1. About FindTrack

FindTrack is a digital application for metal detectorists. The app enables users to log finds, manage plots, track sessions and participate in a community of like-minded hobbyists.

FindTrack is intended for personal, non-commercial use. The app is available as a progressive web app (PWA) at findtrackapp.com.

2. Creating an account

To use FindTrack you need an account. By creating an account you agree to the following:

• You are at least 16 years old, or have consent from a parent or legal guardian
• You provide a valid email address and keep your account details up to date
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential
• You notify FindTrack immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account
• You do not create multiple accounts for the same person

3. Permitted use

FindTrack may only be used for lawful activities relating to metal detecting. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including:

• Obtaining permission from the landowner before detecting
• Meeting reporting obligations for archaeological finds (e.g. PAN in the Netherlands, CAI in Belgium)
• Respecting restricted areas (protected monuments, military sites, etc.)
• Complying with local laws and regulations on metal detecting

FindTrack is a tool for recording and administration — full legal responsibility for your detecting activities rests with you.

4. Prohibited use

It is strictly prohibited to use FindTrack for:

• Detecting on land without the owner's permission
• Concealing or falsifying find locations for illegal purposes
• Uploading content that infringes the copyright or other rights of third parties
• Posting offensive, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable content
• Hacking, reverse-engineering or overloading the servers or API
• Creating fake accounts or impersonating other users
• Automated extraction of data from the app (scraping) without written permission
• Commercial use of the app without prior written consent

5. Content you post

You retain ownership of the content (photos, descriptions, find data) you post in FindTrack. By uploading content, you grant FindTrack a non-exclusive licence to store, process and — for public finds — display that content to other users.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. FindTrack reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or the law.

6. Private and public finds

Finds are private by default. Only you can see private finds. When you make a find public, it is visible to all FindTrack users. Public find locations are displayed in rounded form to protect the precise location of your plot.

Think carefully before making a find public — once shared, the information may have been seen by others even if you later set it back to private.

7. Pro subscription

FindTrack offers a free basic version and a paid Pro subscription. For the Pro subscription:

• Payments are processed via Stripe — a secure, certified payment platform
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date
• You can cancel at any time via Settings → Subscription in the app
• Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of the paid period
• Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis — contact support to request one

8. Availability and maintenance

We aim for 99% uptime but cannot guarantee it. FindTrack may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates or technical issues. We will announce planned maintenance via the app as far in advance as possible.

9. Liability

FindTrack is a tool for recording and community. We are not liable for:

• Damage arising from your detecting activities
• Legal consequences of finds or detecting without permission
• Loss of data due to technical failures (we perform regular backups)
• Content posted by other users in the app
• Damage caused by temporary unavailability of the app

FindTrack's liability is in all cases limited to the amount you have paid for a Pro subscription in the preceding 12 months.

10. Termination of your account

You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account. FindTrack reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts in the event of a breach of these terms, without prior notice.

11. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes you will receive a notification in the app. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
